Comment on Weiss Funeral Home - Milwaukee, WI written by: Mike G. 05/07/2011 10:45PM Are you aware that John Bradley, one of the flag raisers at the Battle of Iwo Jima in 1945 (and immortalized in the famous picture and statue of the flag raising) worked at your funeral home in December 1945 (just 8 months after the famous event) while simultaneously taking classes at the Wisconsin Institute of Mortuary Science? He later went on to establish his own funeral home in Appleton.

I just read this in the book "Flag of Our Fathers" and was surprised: I grew up at near your funeral home and spent many hours by your place waiting for the bus to come down Farwell Ave.
