Comment on Deland Memorial Gardens - Deland, FL written by: Brenda F. 05/28/2011 6:02PM This is a very beautiful cemetary but we had several issues with them. First my mother died 14 months ago and though we paid for and were promised on several occasions there still is not a blade of grass on my mothers grave. Also, they leave their American flags out day and night in the Veterans section even though they do not have a spotlight shining on them. Also, they hold an annual Memorial Day celebration in the Veteran section directly over the bodies. My mothers grave has been covered over with a rug and you can't even see her name if you want to go pay your respects. I think it is wonderful that they hold the celebration but I think that it would be better to have it someplace where they don't have to disrespect peoples loved ones to do it. We were not informed that this would happen every year to our loved one when we bought our plot.
